A piece of dutch black/thrash history collected!
This compilation by Dutch underground heroes Occult compiles their 1992
live performance at the Black Flame Festival and the first real studio
recordings simply entitled “Studio Demo 1993”.
Out of the ashes of most likely the first real Dutch Black Metal band
Bestial Summoming came Occult, at least that was the impression back
then when Sephiroth announced Occult’s appearance in the scene.
Compared to Bestial Summoning Occult was way more structured, and
sounding like a Thrash band (strong Slayer influences are not to be
overheard) with a Darkened, Satanic imagery. The band immediately
started to perform live and was a forced to be reckoned with on stage.
Soon songs as “Leader in War” and “Almight Horde” became small classics,
spiced up with cover songs of Acheron and Sathanas.
In co-operation with Maurice Swinkels (a.k.a. Sephiroth) and New Era
Productions these recordings are presented here on digipack-CD and LP.
Very limited editions, for the collectors.
Occult kept going during the 90’s, doing albums (five in total) before
changing their name into Legion of the Damned. This band made it big, at
least in Europe, becoming a house-hold name in quality, killer Thrash
Metal!
This underground gem is needed in your collection if you like: Legion of
the Damned, old Slayer, Dark Angel, Acheron, Bestial Summoming
